What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a cosmetic filler injectable designed to restore facial volume lost due to aging and sometimes illness. Containing poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), Sculptra is a biocompatible synthetic that naturaly encourages collagen production. It works a bit differently from the more common hyaluronic acid dermal fillers.
How Long Does it Take to See Sculptra Results?
Some patients notice visible results immediately, but full results take a few weeks to months. Since Sculptra induces natural collagen production, you need to give your body time to yield results.
When you begin, the average treatment regimen consists of 3 injections over the course of a couple months. Then, we can begin a once-a-year maintainance plan.
How Long Does Sculptra Last?
Up to two years, but I recommend one treatment per year to maintain full results. Each patient's results may vary, but Sculptra is one of the longest lasting injectables on the market.
Will There be Any Downtime After Sculptra?
After your Sculptra appointment, you should expect swelling and slight redness or bruising. Avoiding heavy exercise and alcohol. Ice will become your BFF!
Another trick to lessen downtime: begin taking Bromeliad and Arnica, two natural supplements to expedite your body's healing process.
Will I Need to Continue Sculptra Injections Forever?
Many patients are so pleased with the impressive results of Sculptra, they can't imagine giving it up. However, you may stop treatment at any time.
